We had a very good meal last night at The Wharf. \u00a0The\u00a0food and friendly service were both greatly appreciated. \u00a0The band was a different matter! \u00a0Luckily they started when we had nearly finished.<\/p>\n

Romy and Peter headed off to the Museum of Science and Industry, having arranged to meet Pete, Lucy, Duncan, Isla and Hugo there at lunch time. \u00a0Lots to see and a very interesting visit.<\/p>\n

This computer is said to be the\u00a0world\u2019s first stored-program computer (If it’s in Manchester why not programme?).\u00a0 Ran its first program at University of Manchester June 1948. \u00a0Today an\u00a0iPad is about 10,000 times faster and a little smaller.<\/p>\n

Pat and Judith went \u00a0on a tour taking in The Ryland Library and Reading Rooms, Piccadilly Gardens, China Town and they also had an old tram ride.<\/p>\n

The pictures below show how crowded Castlefield Quay has become. \u00a0It looks very different from the 2011 picture sent to us by Sarah.<\/p>\n
